SABR40 - Sweet as a Peach!

Sheraton Hotel - Downtown Atlanta

It is official!  SABR 40 kicks off at the Sheraton in downtown Atlanta on Thursday, August 5, 2010! (Although there may be a special event or two on Wednesday....) 

We've been busy with the pre-planning, and now that the dates are set we can start nailing things down.  Special events and research panels already in the planning stages include:

*Banquet Speaker - John Schuerholz has given us a committment!

* Ballparks of the Southern Association

* Braves 1990s/"Worst To First" Panel, moderated by Pete Van Wieren

* New Technologies and Baseball

* Trials and Tribulations of the Research Process - a panel discussion with recent recipients of the Seymour Medal,  moderated by Dorothy Seymour Mills and Ken Fenster.

* Excursion to Rickwood Field in Birmingham

* Excursion to the Ty Cobb Museum and gravesite in Royston

* San Francisco Giants vs. Atlanta Braves on Friday Night at Turner Field

* Tours of Turner Field and the Braves Museum

* SABR's usual line-up of member Research Presentations

Other special events and presentations are being developed as well.  Updates will be posted here as other events are finalized.
