Well, I must say I was very impressed with TDOT and their clearing of the roads... Although it sucked on Thursday when it took me and hour to get from halls to west knoxville. Only ran across one accident and they were nearly cleared up. It was jamm packed so salt trucks really couldn't do anything but when I woke up the next morning and eased my way out of my apt complex all the roads I take were COMPLETELY cleared of snow and ice, all you saw was the dry whiteness laying on the road. Of course it was much easier for me, I take Gallaher View to 40 to 640 and on to broadway... All Major roads that they care of first. When I got to work I was VERY dissappointed though. They had sent out an e-mail Thursday afternoon stating that Friday would be a normal working day but for Managers and stuff to be flexible. Well, my thinking is if a company expects you to be there after a snow storm they would have the parking lot cleared for us? Nope, no such luck. That kinda pissed me off. Expecting your employees to come to work but doing NOTHING to make sure of our safety within the complex. Mother Nature was very generous in giving us clear skies so the sun took care what the company couldn't do. Finally about noon somebody shovelled our sidewalk and salted in front of our building which stays in the shade all day long but NO attempts were made to clear the parking lot.

Now how about apartment complexes? Do you any of you live in one where they actually salt for their tennants? I've lived in four different one here in Knoxville and only one did and that was just the entrance way cause it was on a steep hill but everbody else has yet to do so? I just don't understand that? What the crap do these complexes do with all our money the rake in?

The Hysteria of the South and "Snow".... Sheesh people..... Driving down broadway this afternoon and 640. For some reason the brand new pavement on 640 was white... Snow you ask? No, actually it was salt spread 2 days before snow is even supposed to be here? Apparently this is supposed have some sort of affect?? Oh yeah... Waste our tax dollars.... that's the affect it has. What other normal Hysteria happens? Let's see.... Stores shelves Empty of milk and water like the world was coming to an end, Schools close at a brisk gust of wind and my fucking power goes out every five minutes! Well, at least it's no worse than Rain in the South.... But that's another Blog! Have a nice day.

Been yet another long period between blogs. Sorry to say I'm leading the same boring life! :) Had a pretty good christmas, received just about everything I wanted. Received Incredible Bonus from work.... Jaw dropped when I opened my little thank you from CIO and VP of our IT Dept. Over a month's salary as a x-mas bonus! Figured it out, it was 6.48% of salary, Pretty damn good for only being there less than 9 months. Did not win the Jaguar that was given away at the corporate christmas party but I did win a $100 best buy gift cert.! So money wise it was a very profitable christmas. The only sad part is I was not able to goto chicago to see family... Immediate family(Mom,Dad and sister) all here in TN but everybody else is in Chicagoland area. First time EVER since moving down to Murfreesboro,TN in 1987 we have not had christmas in Chicago. I was very dissappointed at that... I only got half a day christmas eve and christmas day off which stunk because it was in the middle of the week...We probably would have made the trip if Christmas was on Friday instead of wednesday.

I haven't really gone to any movies lately, Saw the Second Harry potter film and Enjoyed it very much, A little darker but all good just the same. Saw Two Towers as well.... sheesh what a long and dragging out movie.... I enjoyed the books much more. Visual effects were spectacular but it just moved so slowly, my butt cheeks hurt after that movie. I received a box set of all four currently available Harry Potter books and read books 3 and 4 as quick as I can... Cannot Wait for 5,6 and 7 damnit!! Really amazing books. Will go back and read the first two here shortly and see how different the movies were. If anybody would like to borrow them just let me know... Truely wonderfull books. I don't read too many books mainly because I'm the slowest reader EVER but I went through these books like a hot knife through butter! Loved every page of them.

REALLY Goood news here!! My boss offered me a position that takes me away from the DMF!!!! I was kinda hesitate at first but then had some talks with dad and other people and I accepted the position. It's still Very hush hush cause nobody knows yet and it won't be for at least a couple months out but it looks like I'm getting a promotion soon! Good holiday season all around! :)

On to some ranting... Stupid Fucking Victor ashe and his Preservationist's!! I'm sure all you knoxvillians know that the 5th Ave Motel was condemmed and closed and boarded up recently and the ownwer Approved it's demolision But Wait a tick cause here comes Victor Asshe requesting that the Metropolitan Planning Commsion(MPC) put the Historic Overlay Zoning on the 5th Ave Motel... and it was approved unanimously... What does this do? it leaves that piece of shit building up so everbody can look and see how shitty downtown knoxville is! Nobody can make ANY changes to the site without approval of the MPC and if you've lived here long enough you'll surely know the red tape that's involved with that. Who gives a damn about a ugly looking Condemmed building, it's not famous in any which way or manner... I say tear the fucker down. I'm tired of the these "Preservationists" wanting to "Save" every damn little stone in Knoxville.... Christ... When is Asshe's term up??

Anyway... I'll try and make more time to blog away...
