Finally! Time to get paid back by those monopolizing Music Companies such as Sony and Elektra and Retailers like Musicland Stores( Best Buy in Disguise). They were charged with price fixing and have agreed to settle. If you bought ANY Recorded music product between January 1, 1995 through December 22, 2000 you are elgible to file a claim and receive up to $20.00. The article I read said if there are over 9 million claims the settlement money will go to charitable groups instead of individuals which is fine by me. All you have to do to file a claim is visit www.musiccdsettlement.com and fill out a simple form. You can only do this once no matter how many Recorded Music products you purchased during that time period.
Seems to me that price fixing is still going strong in the Music Industry. The average cost of a CD is still pretty darn ridiculous. Sure there are new release "sales" but have you taken a look at older material? Still around $18.00 for something that was released 10 years ago.
