Ah... the weekend. Much needed after yet another long and stressful work week. Sundown in the City was fantastic this past thursday. The spades who I had heard Saturday evening at barley's opened up for Aressted Development and really rocked the place. Well, Jazzed the place considering they're a Jazz band :) Then Arrested Development came out and really put on a show. They have and amazing dancer that didn't stop all night. She had a six pack for abs and she could dance! After Sundown I headed on down to Barley's where a couple of the bartenders don't even ask me what I want anymore as I've been a frequent customer of lat :) Rogue Hazzlenut is my staple. Although I think I need to tone that down a little. Starting to feel a little fatter than normal :( Anyway, A bluegrass band called The Greencards played and was very good. The lead singer was australian with a wonderfull accent and nice little body on her, and she played a good bass too. Really interesting to hear bluegrass from them. Did a good job.
On to saturday! Met up with Skycry to take part in the Kid Rock concert. Let me tell ya... the Rednecks were out that night!! Saw some interesting attire along with plentifull breasted women. There was on right in front of us that was pretty damn fine with breasts that would make Dolly Parton blush. Then four lovelies were next to us. One next to me was kinda cute but had a pot belly and one heck of an annoying screech, but a PHAT ass on her though. She was dancing all night long and I'm sure that little box of hers was nice and warm by the end of the evening.... not sure if they were legal or not? Oh yeah... and there was music too :) Puddle of Mudd sucked some major ass. I felt pitty for the crowd as they didn't realize they were insulting the great city of knoxville and its' residents all night long. Man I was glad when they finished. Then came Kid Mutherfucking Rock and did just that... Rocked the place out. He put on a great show. Lots of pyro, lots of showmanship, lots of half naked women, and lots of rock. Everything you want in a Rock 'N' Roll concert. I did think he would play a couple more from his latest album. I wanted to hear Cold and Empty and Run off to LA Live but they were both ballads and I guess you can only play so many ballads at a rock concert. So of course he played Only God knows why as the power ballad. After the show Skycry and I spend a few minutes outside waiting for the crowd to disperse a little. Then parted ways as Skycry went home I headed downtown to Barley's for MuzikMafia MuzikMafia is a collection of songwriters and up and coming performers, and it serves as the "after party" for concerts. They rearranged barley's for the event taking out many tables opening up the front of the stage for the crowd. They also had a painting canvas next to the stage roped off which I'll get to later. The performers, as it really wasn't a set band, started playing around 12:30 or so and it was real good mix of music. As I eased my way towards the front to get a better view of the musicians I noticed somebody was now painting on the canvas, and she was trying to paint to the music?? Interpretive Painting I guess? Really odd. She would look at the music players, pick a color and then start waving the brush against the canvas in a frantic motion. Actually turned out pretty good by the end of the evening. I certainly could do that if I tried? About 2am ish the crowd got what they really came for as Kid Rock came down from the VIP section upstairs and sang a quick tune with the other musicians. It was pretty awesome! I was about five feet away from Kid Rock playing in Barley's. Sorry, No pictures. He went back to his vip palace after one song and then the rest kept playing till about 2:30. When they were about the wrap it up the crowd started screaming for Kid Rock and he came and played one more rendition of Only God Knows Why. It was pretty cool. As it was closing time I headed out to my car to find a huge backup in traffic so I had to sit and wait it out. I was standing near my car and was trying to block out the commotion next to me as two drunk bitches were yelling at each other about who was driving home and a guy in the middle trying to calm them down.... ain't gonna happen buddy. One thing led to another and one got pushed down and then she got back up and swatted at her knocking the cell phone out of the pushers hand and it went flying into several pieces. That's when I jogged over to find a couple of knoxville's finest and told them a couple of girls were fighting in the parking lot. He came over and gave the spiel 'I about to take one of you to jail, let's get in your car and go home'. Normally I don't do that sort of thing. I could care less if two drunk bitches beat each other up but they were next to my car which I do care about! They get in their car still arguing and then one of the girls busts open her door hitting my Car!! Muther fucker that pissed me off. I yelled at her and she didn't pay any attention and their man or whatever he was was able to get her back in the car and the drove off quickly. I looked to see what the damage was and fortunately it was nothing more than a ding. BITCH! As I was still waiting for the traffic to clear a little another car came by and a couple in the car asked me if there was a hotel near by and if the locals were strict on DUI. I gave them directions to the radisson or least told them which direction to start going and then they wanted to know how to get to I-75 so told to take a left and right and whatever to get there. The woman asked me if I had gone to Kid Rock and I said and and started talking about how great the concert was and she starts balling about how her brother just died and they kicked her out of the concert.... the guy cut the conversation short and drove off quickly. Jesus people? Like she was going to get solitude at a Kid Rock concert? And to complain that they Kicked her out??? One thing I've learned in knoxville is to get kicked out of anywhere you must have done something to provoke the police or security guards cause you can get away with just about anything at an event here. Maybe I should rename this blog to "The Chronicles of Meathead" ? :) All in all an intertesting weekend
