Greatest thing since sliced bread. XM radio just blows everything else away. The quality is just incredible. From a previous post I told you that I was able to find a Roady 2 on ebay, of course I was in best buy today and they have it now... Too late you fuckers! Got it cheaper too. Anyway... the user guide says the Roady 2 which uses an integrated FM modulator had the lowest quality of audio output compared to an external FM modulator and the Home kit hooked up to a receiver or power speakers and it still blows my shitty factory car system away. The clarity is outstanding! Took about 5 mintues for me to fall in love with XM Radio. Not too many things I recommend but this is definitely one of them. Other Meathead recommendations: Netflix , flicksmart :) and Gamefly , Haven't actually tried gamefly yet but have read some great reviews and that's next on my list of subscription services to get. Might not be until christmas time till I get that one though. So far my only negative thought about XM radio is I wish it had the time of each song being played. It may have it but I haven't found how to display it?
OK. Today my mission was, if I chose to accept it which I did, was to find the XM PCR. This is XM Radio's device for the computer. It comes with some kool software so you can see what's playing on ALL 120 stations at one time http://www.xmradio.com/xmpcr/ And some other really nice features. As well as other people writing software for it. Plus I could use it at home and work as I await for my free home kit. Unfortunatelly once again I was disappointed in Knoxville's serious lack of technology equipment and inventory as Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Walmart, CompUsa, Radio Shack and Sears didn't carry it. The Best Buy computer guy didn't even know what it was, I could have sworn I saw it best buy before but it's not even listed on their website so I guess I must have imagined it. So, off to ebay again! Only a few hits on ebay and they were all used so I continued my search on google and found one for 39.88 on www.pcconnection.com . Others had it for about 46 like http://www.xmfanstore.com/ . For some reason I was charged tax on pcconnection? I still don't get that where some sites charge and some don't? I know if they operate or have an office in your state they have to charge sales tax but I couldn't find anything on whether or not they have a facility in Tennessee or not? Movie Reviews... Saw King Arthur Last weekend and enjoyed it. If you're looking for the legendary tale of king arthur then this isn't for you. Supposedly it's based on historical facts? I'd like to research that cause it's an interesting tale that was told. Took me awhile to get the legend out of my head and enjoy it but I liked it in the end. Plus seeing Keira Knightingly in skimpy clothes is more than worth the price of admission... oh wait... I get in free :) . Went and saw I, Robot yesterday and that was also very enjoyable. Lots of action. It's loosely based on Isaac Asimov's book I, Robot. I was definetely enticed by this movie to review the book which I'll pick up soon. I was looking on amazon and there are several robot books by asimov so I'll probably have to check them out too. I'm wating for somebody to option one of Williams Shantner's books from either his Tek War series or his Quest for Tomorrow Series. Both really good science fiction series' . So different from his star trek role and an yet another interesting spin on our future. They tried to do a TV series about the Tek War series but it wasn't very good as it didn't capture the book very well at all. I think it would do better as a movie. Oh well, good enough blogging for today. Cyas later.
