You ever have those days that you just want to give up and start somewhere new? Well I had one of those today and I didn't much like. Nobody at Regal seems to understand they day in and day out pressure that our support group is under. Everybody expects instant service. 3 people supporting some 600-700 users is not easy and nobody should expect instant service, of course I'd love to be able to do that but I get 2 phone calls and I'm covered up. Some problems take 5 minutes to solve other can take 4 hours and then you have the individuals who have a 10 minute issue who turn it into and all day event and sometimes multi day events. You would not believe the calls we get. "E-mail is down", AKA the persons didn't receive one e-mail cause the sender spelled it wrong. "I can't get into my computer" AKA A shortcut is missing. This list goes on. What's even worse is out of the 50 IT staff members I'd say maybe 10-12 could actually setup their own computers start to finish. Just a big cluster sometimes.
Beleive it or not I love help people and solving problems but I gotta say everyday drains the life out of me. Oh well... I need a beer.
