Wednesday, February 02, 2005 ![]() SCRUED AGAIN!That's right folks. Motley Crue has a new album out Red, White and Crue! This 2 disc compilation pack with 3 new songs: If I Die Tomorrow, Sick Love Song and a cover of Rolling Stones' Street Fighting Man. Of course..... It kicks ass for me! The album was released in conjunction with their Reunion Tour. Here's a little snippet from the CD Jacket from David Wild(a contributing rolling stones editor: My fellow Americans, the strangest thing about Motley Crue becoming respected elder stateman of hard rock is the fact that they have lived long enough to get a little elder and kick this much ass. Despite the short shelf life of modern fame, fashion, fortune - as well as the band members' own best efforts at mutually assured self-destrution - Motely Crue could never quite obliterate itself. This powerful, defiant beast has stubbornly refused to rock & roll over and die, even when things definitely seemed pointed in that downward direction. Instead, in the spirit of our rockin' forefathers, the Crue soldiered on with liberty and volume for all. The glorious results of motely crue's largely misspent youth are all over Red, White & Crue - a truly surpisingly and defiantly American success story of rags, riches and raunch. The record - This record, in fact - clearly shows that Motely Crue's music has aged shockingly well. For a bunch of troublemakers who didn't just have an appetite for destruction, but instead a full-blown addiction to the wasted life, the Crue has nevertheless stuck around long enough to create a considerable and impressive musical legacy. Sure, sometimes Motely Crue would become as well known for the bodies of their bedfellows as for their body of work. If you want all the dirt - and let's be real, there is a boatload of it to be had - then by all means read The Dirt, the band's wildly entertaining and often frightening group autobiography. It's one of the greatest and most fucked-up stores ever told. And if you want the songs that paid the bills and kickstarted our hearts in the first place, hear they are in all their sonic glory. I couldn't agree more, fucked up story is such and understatement. He goes on for a few more sonnets about their career through each album. If you haven't read The Dirt I highly recommend it. Their story is pretty damn interesting. Even you don't care for them it's an amazing adventure. I never realized how sick and fucking twisted they were back in the early 80's until I read The Dirt. They all pretty much died and came back to life at some point in their life due to massive drug and alcohol use. The 60's and 70's may have LCD and Acid trips but Heroin and Cocaine, Whiskey had Motley Crue! Hard hitting American Rock N' Roll! You can't ask for much more. Here's a fantastic website for a complete history on the Crue: Chronological Crue Sunday, January 30, 2005
Been a couple weeks since my last post, sorry but sometimes I just don't feel like typing for an 30-60 minutes. Got my Vegas trip booked today through orbitz. First time dealing with them so we'll see. I'm going March 19-23rd. If anybody wants to join me in vegas Let me know! :) Which ever way I figured it the price came to be about the same whether you booked through a package deal or air and hotel separate. The only thing I didn't like with Orbitz is the flight schedules but I was able to get something decent. Only an hour layover in hotlanta which most of that will be taken trying to get to the other terminal. Every damn flight I've had into atlanta the plane change was in the OTHER terminal so I'm expecting that :) Total was $1267 which is a fair deal. I wanted to go March 13-21 but it's convention week and Holy smokes it was expensive. About $1500 more so I'm ok with this. One big reason I'm going is for the Motley Crue Reunion tour! My absolute favorite band. I've only seen them once and it was not the orginal members so I'm pretty pumped... now to buy those tickets... They're playing at the Joint in the Hard Rock! Man it's going to be awesome. I've also scheduled a Blue Man Group show for the 21st. You can't gamble the entire time so I want to take in a couple shows as well. I might have to book SkinTight again as well. Holy shit that show is Goood! I'd love do jubilee but maybe next time. If you've never been to vegas it's a great time. A sad misconception is all there is to do is gamble. If you think that you are sadly mistaken. Shows, Amusement Park, Tours, etc. They've really done a good job turning it into a family place. Some annoying things are the assholes trying to get you to time share! They don't bother singles often but if you're a couple watch out! Then you have the mexican pimps trying to hand you flyers of some adult activities :) They can't talk to you but they bang the pamplets together to get you attention. You just walk by em. There has been some crackdown on that shit which is good. Of course... 2 for 1 special for under $100 is hard to beat ;)
Got your taxes done yet? I do. Dad took care of in less than 30 minutes over at taxact.com and did an efile. IRS accepted within 24 hours and I should get my fair return directly deposited into checking account next week :) It's pretty sweet. Been doing that way for a couple years now and it's 1, 2, 3, for my dad anyway since he's an accountant. Although I think he's skimming me from the top! Ha Ha. Not too much else going on. Still trying to get back in the mood to do low carb again. Some say that fad is dying out but it works, you just have to come to realization that it's not a diet but a life style change. That's the hump I can't get over. I've bought a couple of excercise items to get me going but haven't started em yet. I'm a lazy bastard. Ok, Here's a good deal for you if you're thinking about going satellite radio. Awesome XM Radio Deal Enter the Code: xmbbxm03. Here's the deal: The $49 package comes with your choice of the Home accessory kit or Car accessory kit so you would have to purchase an additional accessory kit. Looks like those go for 69. The Boombox one comes with both the boombox and skyfi2 unit. That’s a good deal. Then for the car you would need an additional Car Accessory kit. So…. SkyFi2 + Choice of home or car kit $49 Additional Kit $69 OR Boombox + SkyFi2 $69 Car Kit $69 I’d have to go with the 2nd option there. That boombox sells for $99 just by itself and the skyfi2 is $129. The boombox is also portable. You are not Required to get the other kit but if you wanted to bring your skyfi and listen in both car and home then you would need the additional kit. A couple other items of note. You have to purchase 3 months of service and must retain an active account for six months or be chareged an additional $60, doesn’t matter if you bought it to listen to it? All of them say "Out of Stock" but add it to cart and order anyway. It'll be shipped within 48 hours. I know 3 people personally so far that have done with no real issues. The only issue was the radio is supposed to be shipped pre-activated but my buddy at work had to call and activate it. The first time he called the non-american on the other end didn't know about any promotion but my friend called back and got an american and he took care of him. Ask For Robert. Good deal. I don't listen to local radio anymore. And XM will have Major League Baseball starting this year so if you can't catch your favorite team then here's the answer. And no... it's not extra, it'll be part of their normal service. You already had your rant SkyCry! :) Didn't expect anything less. hehe.
