MET is a not for profit professional theatre that extends access to the theatrical canon, inspires creativity and empowers individuals and community through the transformational power of the arts

Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre

exists to extend the cultural birthright of

arts participation to all people.

At it's heart, MET is committed to the art of story.  We claim the great stories of our heritage as the birthright for all people. We work to encourage the creation of new stories and new artists whose voices speak to the rich totality of our community and whose perspectives deepen our understanding of each other and of our selves. We believe that exploration of personal creativity and opportunity for engagement in life long learning is critical to the health and happiness of people and our world.

Twenty years in the planning and three years in development, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre is a not for profit professional theatre founded by Artistic Director, Karen Paisley and the MET Core Board and Company in 2005.  Committed to extending access to the artistic Canon, inspiring Creativity, empowering Individuals and building Community, MET is based in Midtown Kansas City.
