1998 Warwick Thumb Bolt-on Six String Bass
This
is my very first Warwick bass...as well as my first and only six string. I bought it in Memphis, TN in 1998, and
it quickly became my main axe (still is). About a month after acquiring this bass, my apartment was gutted by a fire
and much of my musical gear was lost. This bass's original case had burned around the bass covering it in soot.
When I cleared away the debris and plugged the bass into a tuner to see if the electronics still fuctioned, the
freakin' thing had stayed in tune! Still can't put this bass down. It was used almost exclusively for my debut
solo album, Green.
Woods: The neck is three piece wenge with a wenge fretboard. Headstock has an
ebony overlay. The body is ovankol. Electronics:
Basslines. Active preamp with 2-band EQ. Active/Passive switch Hardware: Black. Recessed
Straplocks. Brass adjustable nut. Bell Brass Frets. Strings: 029-128 nickel roundwounds....sometimes
020-130 stainless steel roundwounds Tuning: Low B to High C in fourths. Realitive Pitch A=432
