2005 Jerzy Drozd Basic V String Bass

This is my second Jerzy Drozd bass. I played it at the Jerzy Drozd booth at the 2006 Winter NAMM show and loved it so much that I had to have it. Typically the sound of a maple neck with a maple fretboard doesn't really get my goat. However, this bass has stainless steel frets which may have been what caught my ear.  I keep in tuned to standard pitch. If you see me with a band or playing with other bassists, I'm more than likely using this bass.

Woods: The 35" scale neck is three piece maple with a maple fretboard. The headstock has an etimoe overlay with a maple/ebony JD inlay. The body is etimoe with a polyurethane satin finish. The pickup covers and control knobs are a maple/etimoe/ebony veneer.
Electronics: Two JeD5XS pickups with wonderful wood covers. Active Aguilar OBp-3 18volt preamp with 3-band EQ and switchable mids (400hz/800hz).
Hardware: Black with straplocks and a groovie milled-brass Jerzy Drozd bridge.
Strings: 040-130 nickel roundwounds.
Tuning: Low B to High G in fourths. Realitive Pitch A=440
