J-Cat, Dog Philosopher Cat

Jade, known affectionately as J-Cat or Jay, is king of his castle.
![]() J-Cat, a Himalayan/Siamese cat mix, shares his opinions on Dogs, the Bad Chair, and Humans. Stories, cute pix, humor. Play cat games, listen to bird sounds with J-Cat. Enjoy your stay! ![]() |

J-Cat belongs to the neighbors across the street. Apparently, no one has informed J-Cat of this fact. J-Cat believes he lives with Daddy and his wife, Barbara. He spends many of his waking (and sleeping) hours around their house. |

IS ANYBODY THERE? Here We are waiting to come inside. We usually get what We want, so We shouldn't have to wait long.
Since this photo was taken, Daddy has begun to brush J-Cat regularly. J-Cat's coat now shines, befitting a King. Daddy has bought J-Cat a brush, a bed, and toys. Daddy used to say he didn't particularly care for cats one way or the other. Daddy is now J-Cat's biggest fan, and J-Cat adores Daddy, following him like a D ... ...can we say the D word here? Dog. J-Cat doesn't like Dogs. |

J-Cat relaxing.

J-Cat likes to sit with Daddy in his favorite chair at night. He also stomps around on Barbara's lap, making a bed, before a long snooze. As dutiful parents, if J-Cat claims a Lazy Boy chair while one of them has left the room, they are reluctant to take it from him. Sometimes they will tilt the chair, dumping J-Cat unceremoniously to the floor. If they try to lift J-Cat out of the chair, J-Cat will sometimes hiss at them and get very bent out of shape. By dumping him out of the chair, J-Cat blames The Bad Chair, not them.

Here is J-Cat playing outside in Daddy's backyard. J-Cat does not care for the whirring, buzzing tools that are a normal part of yardwork procedures, like edgers, blowers, etc. He tolerates the lawnmower but does not like it. Sometimes he moves to the front yard, into his Lair. |
J-Cat in his Lair.
Here is J-Cat's Lair, deep in the jungle shrubbery in Daddy's front yard. Here he observes his Mighty Kingdom. Here he waits patiently for Daddy to emerge from the house, and perhaps invite him into the Inner Sanctum, i.e., The House. |
Cats have a way of finding their way into our hearts.
Here J-Cat is snuggling against Daddy's foot. Daddy and J-Cat have many wonderful petting sessions together on the sidewalk in front of the house, in the Lazy Boy, and in Daddy's work shed. |
What fun it is to view the world upside down!
This is J-Cat's favorite position on the sidewalk. J-Cat makes one tiny noise that Daddy better read correctly. One interpretation is, "I'm happy, pet me." The other is, "I'm content; don't touch me." It is hard for us stupid humans to understand Cat Talk. When in doubt, leave the King alone. |

I recommend the "Large Katnip Tree." It is sturdy, 28 inches high and will not tip over or wobble.
