The Technique

The original photo is digitally cropped and resized into an 8.5" by 11" black and white master.
It is scanned against a database containing black and white photographs of over 3000 different dogs.
Matches for perfect shading are made over and over, more than 28,000,000 in all, until the best representation of the original image is created.
The final picture contains over 400 of the tiny dog pictures.

The Process

You choose a favorite shot of your dog - or that of a friend or family member. Ideally the picture should offer a good closeup of the dog's face - either from the front or by profile.
Send the picture to the address provided, either electronically via e-mail, or an actual photo using snail mail (these will be returned with the final mosaic.) Allow 10 to 14 working days for shipping of your mosaic portrait.
