2005 Nissan Xterra Off-Road 4x4
with front brush guard, ICOM 706MKIIG radio, Garmin eTrex Legend GPS and glove box full of maps!
Coming soon: Shrock Works Sliderbars & fuel tank skidplate (replaces the stock
skid). The Yakima LoadWarrior Cargo basket on top with locking bracket and several adaptors/mounts, such as hi-lift
jack bracket, light mount bracket, spare tire mount, and axe/shovel bracket (that one is a maybe), cargo net to hold everything
else down if there's any room left.
On the Still Need to get List: Extra Lights. On front grill guard, on top foward and rear for backing
up. A good hi-lift jack. One or two no-leakage approved 3 or 5 gallon gas cans (depends on how heavy it gets when
full.) A small battery powered TV/DVD player (for travel with kids.)
I also have other equipment & things on-board such as:
First Aid Kit (came standard with car), 20Ft. 5000 lb tow strap, air compressor & tire pressure gauage, power converter,
handheld multi-band radio, antenna tuner analyzer, digital video camera, receiver ball & hitch with lock, fire extinguisher,
jumper cables, folding shovel, hatchet, rambo-style 6" blade, pry bar, cutters, pliers, wrench, screwdrivers, receiver
hitch & ball with a lock, 4x2 scrap wood, 2 flashlights with extra batteries, hallogen headlamp, a backpack, and
a supply of extra food, water, clothes, blankets (in case I get stuck over night)....... and if I
am, then I either break out the Vodka to keep myself warm or share it and have a party, if nothing else.
AND another list full of MISC things that come in handy from
time to time like a cell phone, superglue, measuring tap, electrical tape, hose clamps, extra wire & connectors, extra
fuses, extra engine oil, bungee cords, matches, umbrella, sunblock, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, spare hidden key, touch-up
paint, full case of favorite music CDs and/or a movie DVD, and a variety of small tools I know how to use
blah, blah, blah.......
OPTIONALS:
A. In case, I should find myself near water, sometimes I'll throw in my little 5-piece trout
fishing rod & fanny pack full of fishing gear, power bait & license! Must also bring a folding chair & bucket.
B. Insert ball hitch to take the tent trailer on a trip.
C. Insert the Thule 4-Bike Rack to take a cycling trip.
D. Insert the rear metal cargo basket to carry firewood, cooler, and gas cans on
a trip (without having to lift anything to the top rack.)
