2004 City League Windsurfing Series

Announcing the 2004 City League Windsurfing Regatta Series!

Come on out and join the Northwest Boardsailing Association in May and June for Wednesday evening FUN races at Magnuson Park and on Puget Sound! These are fun, social events, intended for windsurfers of ANY ability level, and a great way to get in shape for summer windsurfing!

Back again this year: Two race events on Puget Sound, at the Des Moines marina park, especially for the Formula crowd! Also, Mistral Prodigy one-design class racing!

Format: Windsurfing course racing (triangle or modified triangle)
Classes:
  Open/Unlimited Formula “Run-What-Ya-Brung”
 (especially for newer sailors/racers)
  Mistral Prodigy one-design Longboard Sport
 (TBD sail size limit)
 
We will do our best with classes and courses to accomodate any level of skill, equipment, etc., so come on out and join us!

Dates and Location: (schedule changes in red; June 15, 2004)
  Wed. May 12 - Magnuson Park, at Sand Point on Lake Washington
      Informational meeting, race clinic, maybe some practice starts/races. Starts at 6 PM.
Wed. May 19 - First evening of racing, Magnuson Park
Wed. May 26 - Magnuson Park**
Wed. June 2 - Puget Sound - Des Moines marina park**
Wed. June 9 - Puget Sound - Des Moines marina park
Wed. June 16 - Magnuson Park
Wed. June 23 - Magnuson Park (make-up date for May 19)
Wed. June 30 - Magnuson Park - BBQ and fun sail

** The venue for May 26 and June 9 may be changed to Des Moines marina park if the weather forecast for Puget Sound is particularly favorable for Formula racing. If this change is made, racing for the following week will be back at Magnuson Park. Any venue change will be announced the evening before on the NWBA homepage, email, NW-Windtalk, and recorded voice-mail message (see contact information below).

Time: Skippers meeting: 6:00 PM, first race immediately after.
Registration opens at about 5:30.
At Magnuson Park, we meet near the swim beach next to Kite Hill. At Des Moines marina, we meet at the small park just north of the marina.

Fees: $30 for the entire series or $10 for a single evening
Awards for top finishers, and there will be a raffle of free stuff at the end of the series.

Charter Boards:
  Two race-ready Mistral Prodigys with rigs (8.5 sail) will be available for charter at the race site (subject to advance reservations). Many, many thanks to North Sports and Mistral for helping us provide these boards!

There will also be a Superlight II longboard available.
