William R. "Ron Cobb" is a retired computer nerd turned business consultant. He now spends his time managing the real estate that he accumulated during his 37 year professional business career. He is an avid fan of old-time baseball and particularly of Ty Cobb. (He is not a descendant of Cobb - rather, a "distant Georgia cousin") Ron has edited and/or published several historical baseball books, including My Twenty Years in Baseball and Busting by Ty Cobb; Which was Greatest: Ty Cobb or Babe Ruth? by H. G. Salsinger;and Honus Wagner on His Life and Baseball. Ron serves on the Board of Advisors of the Ty Cobb Museum in Rosyton, Georgia and has been a SABR member since 2002. His article The Georgia Peach: Stumped by the Storyteller appeared in the 2010 convention publication The National Pastime: Baseball in the Peach State and won the 2010 McFarland-SABR Award.
