Terry W. Sloope served as the
Magnolia Chapter's Chairperson for over 10 years. He lives in Cartersville,
Georgia and works at Kennesaw State University. He was the Chairperson for
SABR40, the national convention held in Atlanta in August 2010. He is
currently involved in biographical projects on the late major league slugger
Rudy York, and William V. "Jumbo" Barrett, a minor league catcher
from the 1920s. Terry was a contributing author to Gary Land's Growing Up
With Baseball and David L. Porter's Latino and African American
Athletes Today: A Biographical Dictionary. He recently finished a
biographical profile of his boyhood hero, Bob Gibson, for a pending book on
the 1964 Cardinals. He also authored the entry for Rudy York in The New
Georgia Encyclopedia, an electronic compendium of Georgia history and
