Wynn Montgomery (the old guy in the picture) is a
semi-retired educator and bureaucrat and a recovering workaholic. He and his wife, Millie, recently
moved to Colorado to be near their grandchildren. Wynn wrote the biography of
Georgia native and 1950s Red Sox pitcher Willard Nixon for SABR's Bio Project
and contributed a Nixon bio to the New Georgia Encyclopedia. He also served
as co-editor on the 2010 SABR Convention publication, The National
Pastime: Baseball in the Peach State. He has seen games in every Major
League city except Arlington, Texas and in more than 40 minor league parks.
He and fellow Magnolia SABR member Alan Morris make an annual "B-4 Road
Trip" that feeds their mutual interests in Baseball, Battlefields
(mainly Civil War), Burial Grounds (historic cemeteries), and Bar-be-que. He is and an avid photographer and cruciverbalist. He coached Little League Baseball for 15
years and now shares his love of the game and the Braves with his son and
grandson. |
