Illinois Central 41' Gondolas 1967+
The Illinois Central Centralia shops built some 2500 41' Drop Bottom Gondolas in 1953. These cars were in general system-wide service. The IC rebuilt these cars into several classes over the years, including the 96000-96999, 296000-296099, and 296300-296499 series. As these classes were rebuilt, most of them lost their drop-bottom doors. Cars rebuilt from 1967 on received the new split-rail image. The cars were painted black and received white lettering.
These cars lasted through the ICG era in this scheme, well into the 1990s. This decal set includes all of the data you need to decal two cars. It is designed to be used with the Red Caboose 40' Steel Side Gondola model.

IC 96000-96999, IC 296000-296099, and IC 296300-293499
This decal set also includes appropriate lettering and data for the Cob Loading 41' Gondolas. Some of the above series were modified in 1968 and 1969 with 5' extensions for bulk corn cob loading. This series included car numbers 2200-2299.
A decal diagram is included. This set is printed white.
