we are in need of some prayers and if can do so financial help . i am enclosing

wrong with the little ones eyes . now i am not great at this stuff and we cannot afford a lot either so we understand
but god knows who can and through our prayers he wil lead us to that person. so every little bit helps.

Howdy Folks,
Charlie Gallien,a very good friend of mine for many years,has recently opened up a beautiful new
club and is having live music several nights a week,including Open Country Jamborees on Sunday afternoons.The jamborees are
currently hosted by some other longtime friends of mine,RONNIE BREAU AND FRIENDS.If this is successful Charlie plans on trying
out other Country bands as weekly jamboree hosts,as well as expanding live Country music to Saturday nights as well.I
plan on stopping by when I'm able,and hope that you all will help spread the word and check it out if you can.All the details
are listed below.
There are other types of live music happening at this venue as well.Please call the club for directions
or more information.Thank you for your support of live music in general and Country music in particular.

COUSIN JOHNNY ON EASTERN CONNECTICUT RADIO FOR 55 YEARS
The Northeast Invitational Country Showdown, a regional country music performance competition sponsored
by New England's NACMAI affiliated Country Music Clubs, was held Columbus Day Weekend 2006 at Buxton ME. Rhode
Island Country Horizons was represented by Al Carter, performing in the adult male Traditional Music category;
Shayna Eismann, performing in the 17-20 female New Country category; and Sarah Del Santo,
performing in the 13-16 female New Country category. Ollie Stedman, a Past President of Rhode Island
Country Horizons and a current Board Member who is also a favorite local and regional country music performer, served as one
of the judges for the competition. We are happy to offer our congratulations to Shayna Eismann who
placed first as New Country Female Entertainer 17-20 and Sarah Del Santo who placed first as New Country Female
Vocalist 13-16. Competing were winners of local competitions held by country music clubs in Rhode Island,
Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. The local competition winners will be representing their states in the worldwide
NACMAI competition to be held in Pigeon Forge, TN in March 2007.

Allison Embry, vocalist and lead guitar player for Top Six Band, passed away the first week of September 2006.
The Country Stew family offers condolances to Allison's wife, Becky, and the rest of his family. Allison was a gifted
performer and it was a wonderful honor to be able to share his music with our Country Stew listeners

Richie Zack began his Country Music career when his brother, Eddie, formed the Dude Ranchers in 1939.
Eddie and Richie were joined by their sisters, Babs and Maril. Richie Zack, known as "Cousin" Richie, also recorded
under the name "Dick Richards". The Dude Ranchers became the Hayloft Jamboree in 1952 while appearing on the WCOP Hayloft
Jamboree in Boston MA. They were the first country music act to play at the Boston Symphony Hall. During this
same period, they were regulars on the NBC radio network, with a show heard every Saturday on 128 stations coast to coast.
The Hayloft Jamboree had recordings on the Decca, Columbia and Crosstown labels. In a career that lasted 65 years,
Richie and the Hayloft Jamboree had two television shows, the first on WJAR and the second in 1965 on WPRO. At various
times, Eddie and Richie hosted radio programs on WRIB, WGNG, WKRI, WHIM AND WJJF. They performed with just about every
major country act during their career, including Eddie Arnold, Roy Acuff, Carl Smith, Lefty Frizzell, Webb Pierce, Kitty Wells
and Johnny Wright, Johnny and June Carter Cash and George Jones, to name just a few. Following his brother Eddie's death
in 2002, Richie became the leader of the Hayloft Jamboree. They continued to make regular appearances and played for
a thankful and loyal crowd every Saturday night in East Greenwich RI. Richie Zack was inducted into the Rhode Island
Country Music Hall of Fame in 1978. A while ago, someone asked Phil why he ends every Country Stew program with a gospel
song by "Cousin" Richie. His answer was simple: Respect
