The New England Wodehouse Thingummy
Society (NEWTS) is a charming, benevolent, good-looking (to other NEWTS) group of people residing in and around New England
who share a warm interest in the writings of P. G. Wodehouse. Most of us are members of The Wodehouse Society (see link below
for more information), but this is not required. We meet at a member's home every other month or so---our meetings are called
"nottles" in honor of Plum's newt-loving character, Gussie Fink-Nottle---where we eat, drink and make merry, usually reading
a Wodehouse short story or discussing our next project. Past projects have included sponsoring a newt exhibit at the
Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and performing original skits at Wodehouse Society conventions.
If you are interested in hearing
more about the NEWTS, and/or if you would like to be placed on our mailing list to receive notices of future meetings, directions
to get there, and other such necessary trivia, please e-mail NEWTS president David Landman at [dalandman at rcn
dot com]. Or, you can write to him at 197 Woburn St., Lexington, MA 02420.
The next nottle is scheduled
for September 14, 2008 in Bedford, MA. Contact David Landman (see above) for details.
