The end of 2007 is very near, were has the year gone? Ted and Lynn was chosen our Couple of the Year for 2007 and were great ambassadors for our Chapter, but you know Chapter T, they aren't the only ambassadors of our Chapter, YOU ARE TOO. When we have new people that come visit us, please make them feel welcome, that's what GWRRA is all about, we are a BIG FAMILY and that's what makes people come back. Also how about instead of seating in our own little groups, setting with somebody different and get to know other members or maybe "new want to be members".
Chapter T with the Pink Peddle Pushers was in the Veterans Parade in Inverness on November 10th and we came in first place as the "Best Community Organization" and we got a beautiful big trophy. Thank you for all the people that rode in the parade. I believe we had 8 trikes and 6 Pink Peddle Pushers. I was hoping for more people but was very pleased with the people that did show up. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of applause.
In Nov. we were told that Ocala had the District Wanderer, so at the last moment we tried to get together some riders to go after it at Ocala's Kick Tire at Wendy's Nov.9th, we ended up with 8 people and had a misunderstanding where we were meeting, 4 people were waiting at Burger King and the rest were at Holder, so we missed 4 people and that was the amount we needed to beat Dunnellon. But I do THANK everyone that came, we tried, it was a beginning. That following Sunday Dunnellon had the Region Wanderer and was giving it away at the Sonics at 11:30 am. We met at Burger King and picked up some Chapter members on the way and ended up with 14 people, but a group near Atlanta Georgia came down and won it, they had the most miles. How you get your points is, the people times the miles times the points. There were over 90 some bikes, what a sight to see. The following Sunday Dunnellon gave away the District Wanderer, we had 19 people that came, it's looking better all the time. Jacksonville came and won and there were over 60 bikes. I hope we can get more people involved in things like this.
Oh by the way did you like our Chat-line telling you about the Wanderer Ride and asking people to sign up for ringing the Salvation Bell,----well it was our very own "Ms Mary Lyons". She called everyone in the Chapter Phone Tree Book, and some of you hung up on her thinking it was the Chat-Line.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey Day, we did. Some of our Chapter family got together plus two friends of ours from Georgia and had Turkey at Old World, maybe next year more of us can get together and do the same.
I want to thank the Chapter T members that rang the bell for the Salvation Army. I know so many people get so tired this time of the year of having people asking for money every time you turn around, but this way your giving 2 hours (or more) of your time and helping a lot of people. Once you have done it, you'll want to do it again. Thanks again for all your help.
Chapter FL-1-R Dunnellon and FL-1-F2 Ocala has invited our Chapter to meet with them Dec. 22 at 5:00 pm at Skeets to eat and then go for a ride to view the Christmas lights, hope a lot of people can come.
Merry Christmas everyone
