Patty and I want to thank the Chapter for the beautiful pink floral spray and all the
personal calls and cards at the passing of James Rehberg, Patty's Dad, on November 14, 2007. It was such a comfort to
us to realize we had so many friends who supported us during Patty's fathers lengthy illness. Thank you all.
Since May of 2005, being Chapter "T" Directors has been our absolute pleasure. You
have shown your support through your personal involvement in the many fun activities, we too have enjoyed, over the past two
years and nine months. Our emphasis has always been FUN, KNOWLEDGE, and SAFETY which would not have been possible without
the many talents of our outstanding staff, listed in alphabetical order:
JR and Rachel Harris have been the PR of Chapter "T". Rachel has written
many articles for the newspaper and kept people informed of our meetings, activities, and numerous donations to the community.
She founded and trained the "Pink Peddle Pushers" as well as actively participated as a member. She has been our go
to lady for such things as "the Best Dressed", "The Talent Show", parade organizer and scheduling coordinator for our Chapter's
involvement in the Salvation Army Bell Ringing. We also greatly appreciate JR who has stepped up to lead our Chapter
on great rides to various locations so many times. He was also "Mr. Fix It" with the "Pink Peddle Pusher" trikes.
Evelyn Knight has done an exceptional job as our treasurer, keeping all Chapter "T"'s
monies and reports accurate and totally accounted for. She is a founding member of the "Pink Peddle Pushers" and an
active participant in the "Best Dressed" and "Talent Show"-----------remember the belly dancer--great costume and performance!
Evelyn is a bell ringer and peddled her trike in many parades.
As Assistant Chapter Directors, Tom and Ann Meeks have been truly exceptional.
Due to my and my family's health issues over the past three and a half months, Tom and Ann have often times taken the
reins and stepped up to cover me at several events, rides, and meetings. Tom's leadership has been invaluable and
so much appreciated. He volunteered to organize our Chapter's super successful 20th Anniversary and Poker Run activity
and also organized a highly successful fundraiser with Champions of Leesburg Honda for the benefit of our member, Pam
LaFoe. Their organizational skills and interest in keeping things fun have been a real asset to Chapter "T".
Ted and Lynn Polack have contributed significantly to our Chapter. Not only have
they been an excellent role model as Couple of the Year for Chapter"T", but they have excelled as our Ride
Coordinator and Sunshine Lady respectfully. Ted has taken us on some beautiful rides and provided useful information
about the places we visited. He is always prepared. They actively were involved in the "Best Dressed" and "Talent
Show". Lynn is a founding member of the "Pink Peddle Pushers". We cannot forget Ted as one of the "Pink Peddle
Pusher's" cheerleader!
Butch and Kathy Pomposelli excelled at two highly demanding roles within the Chapter.
One being our Rider Educator (Safety Guy) and the other being our Newsletter Coordinator. Butch provided numerous safety
and riding lectures as well as instructor for the Road Captains course. He has provided written instructions in our
newsletter and has often times lead rides to various locations. More often than not, Butch provided for safe riding
habits for the group as the tail gunner. Great job! Kathy created our Chapter's website and redesigned the cover
and format of our newsletter. Getting the newsletter ready for print was not always easy for Kathy because some of
us who supplied articles did not always get them to her by deadline. Thanks for all your patience. She
is a very talented lady who takes pride in our Chapter's Newsletter...that's very obvious.
Darrell and Linda Thompson continue to be outstanding Assistant Chapter Directors.
Both have been actively involved in the "Best Dressed" and the "Talent Show". They never hesitate to help on any project
and routinely provide countless hours to the benefit and enjoyment of all chapter members. Linda is an active member
of the "Pink Peddle Pushers" and has been involved in numerous shows and parades. She organized the food and donations
for our Chapter's 20th Anniversary and Poker Run activity. Linda and Darrell are actively involved in the "Ride
for Kids" not only here in Florida but also in Ohio. She has worked with several businesses and chapter members
to provide donations for needy families at Thanksgiving. Darrell was also a "Mr. Fix It" with the Pink Peddle Pusher
Trikes.
And a very special thank you to my partner, sounding board, counselor, financial director,
chief cook, riding associate, chatline advisor and love of my life.........my wife, Patty.
I would be remiss if I did not thank past staff members who all provided hard work, active
participation and a lot of fun for our Chapter: Don and Gerri Allender, Chris and Eva Christopher, Mary Morton, and
Marcel and Kathy Szal.
Patty and I can not adequately show our appreciation nor fondness for the many new friends
we have enjoyed since becoming members of GWRRA and more specifically Chapter FL1-T. Your support, involvement and willingness
to follow an old bald guy have been admirable. Thank you all so much. We may be stepping down from office, but
we will NOT be stepping out of Chapter "T"!
