Phillipa Armes and Sarah newton have joined Carolina Ballet as trainees.  Both dancers are also finishing their senior year in high school

Leigh Barnwell has moved back to Raleigh and is working for Duke University Press.

Laura Bowman and Lindsey Purrington both members of Pennsylvania Ballet,  taught for The Raleigh School of Ballet Intensive Summer Program.

Kathryn Daniel is taking courses at NC State and dancing with the Duke University Dance Program under Tyler Walters.  She is a guest dancer with RDT for its fall performances in Fancy Nancy:  Bonjou,  Butterfly

Dylan Giles is attending the University of Indiana on a dance scholarship

Maggie LaPlante (formerly Whitmeyer) had a baby boy, Wesley David LaPlante on May 11, 2008

Helen Johnston  attends Smith College and is training in dance under Roger Blume.

Stacy Price is the Lead Literacy teacher in PreK4 at KIPP DC: Leap Academy. KIPP, a national organization of charter schools stands for Knowledge Is Power Program.  On the weekends she teaches at BalletPetit in Bethesda MD.

Emily Proctor performed at the American Dance Festival with Aspen Sana Fe Ballet

Yvette Sumner graduated in August 2008 from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in English She is interning with UNC press while also substitute teaching at The Raleigh School of Ballet

Maryanne Schwoyer   teaches Biology at Syracuse Community College and teaches ballet at a local school.

Chris Weisler has left Cincinnati Ballet and is currently with the Dutch National Ballet.  He has recently earned his BFA in dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Congratulations to our graduating class:

Michelle Lacks an RDT member RSB student since age 14 will graduate from Broughton.  She is a member of the National Honor Society

Katie McNeirny an RSB student and RDT member since age 14 will graduate from Enloe High school.  She is co-editor of the school’s newspaper
