Dress Code

Dance attire may be purchased at local dance supply stores or on line. Please see the dress code table at the bottom of the page (click here to go to the dress code table)

Additional articles of clothing may not be worn in class.

No jewelry (watches, bracelets, anklets, necklaces, large earrings, etc.) may be worn in class.

Students must wear a “cover-up” when outside the building.

Hair:    Creative Movement - Hair off face and neck neat ponytail.
          A and B Levels - Hair pulled back into a neat secure bun.
          C, D, and L Levels - Hair pulled back into a neat, secure bun. No bangs or wisps.
          Modern and Jazz - Hair off face and neck in a neat ponytail or bun.

Shoes: New ballet shoes should be checked by the child’s teacher for fit before sewing on elastic --- Elastic must be sewn on ballet shoes.

-Pre-pointe students are fitted for pointe shoes in January. Notification of the fitting time is sent home with the student.

-New pointe shoes for Pointe Levels 1 - 3 must be checked by an appropriate faculty member before sewing on elastic and ribbons.

School Rules and Policies

Students, parents, siblings, and visitors are asked to adhere to the appropriate rules as follows:

- To drop a class, please follow instructions on your contract.

- Parent/Guardian must accompany children under age eight.

- No yelling, running, or gymnastics in the building.

- No climbing on porch railing or ballet barres.

- L and D level classes may warm-up in a studio before class.

- Proper attire must be worn for class. (See above)

- Students must be on time for all classes.

- No food in dressing room or lobby.

- Students must wear a ‘cover-up’ when outside the building.

- Students must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after their class.

- After dark, students under eighteen must wait in the building.

Weather Related Closings
The School does not follow public school decisions regarding inclement weather. When possible, classes are held. If you are in doubt as to the status of your child's class, please call the office, 834 - 9261, for a recorded message.
