Welcome to my updated Web site. The current site is a personal site for friends and family of Richard Q. Blackwell. Go ahead and have a look, and feel free to email me with suggestions, comments, and other positive feedback.

Current contents include:

• Genealogy: results of research into Blackwell, Paisley, Doty, Wren, Uren, Barwis, and Banfield families. The Blackwells, Paisleys, and Dotys are domestic (US), and the rest are from Cornwall and the Scilly Isles. I also have some other materials on the Scilly Isles that I will figure out how to include on the site, as there is a small but dedicated corps of Scillonians and devotees out there.
• Pictures: I have an interesting collection of old slides and photographs. The most interesting ones are probably the slides my parents took in the Far East in the late 1950s. My mother enjoyed taking slides of everyday life, and the slides of Taiwan are a unique view of life there circa 1959. There are also interesting photos of other Far and Middle Eastern cities in that same era.
• Sketches: A group of (I hope) entertaining encounters with people in my family, past and present. For me, the whole point of family history is to learn what people were like at other times and in different places. Here are my attempts to capture what I know about some interesting characters.
• Family & Friends: Blackwell/Christianson/Friends stuff.
