Parts of this card are very difficult to read. John Nelson Loyd was the husband of Mary Ella Hughes and father
of Ollie Ann Lloyd. Various sources indicate that the spelling of the Loyd name was changed to "Lloyd" during John's
generation, but this draft registration card uses the previous spelling in line 1 and in his signature.
This card was completed on September 12, 1918 in Liberty. John lived in Dayton and was a farmer, self-employed.
The name of his nearest relative is hard to read, but it probably was recorded as Mary Ella Loyd, his wife. She died
about three months later, on December 10, 1918.
John was tall and of slender build. I can't make out the hair and eye color on this card.
