Richard Krawiec's first novel, TIME SHARING, was published by Viking Penguin. It was reviewed by such luminaries as Michiko
Kakutani, Richard Eder, and Jonathon Yardley. It was featured in Publisher's Weekly Recommended List, and the Village Voice
Real Life Rock Top Ten column. Multiple film options have been sold through the years.
His second novel, FAITH IN WHAT?, was published by a small press. It received good reviews from Publisher's Weekly,
Kirkus and major daily newspapers throughout the US.
His short story collection, AND FOOLS OF GOD, also received excellent reviews from Kirkus, Library Journal and elsewhere.
His short stories appear in dozens of literary magazines and have been nominated and short-listed for the BEST AMERICAN SHORT
STORIES anthology.
His award-winning poetry, feature articles, and plays appear in commercial and literary publications throughout the US,
Europe, and Asia.
In addition, he has written a chapter book for children, "The Truth About S.C.", and two biographies for young
adults, "Sarah Hughes: Sudden Champion", and "Yao Ming: Gentle Giant". The Yao Ming book was awarded
one of the top 40 books of the year by the Pennsylvania Librarians Association, and a chapter purchased by Florida for use
in their language arts curriculum.
He writes a column, Under the Radar, about overlooked books for the Sunday Raleigh News and Observer.
AWARDS
He has won fellowships for his writing from the National Endowment for the Arts, the North Carolina Arts Council(twice),
and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Krawiec wrote the curriculum for the Beginning and Intermediate Fiction Writing courses which he teaches online for UNC-Chapel
Hill.
Since 1983, he has offered training workshops on how to teach writing to children and adults at writers conferences, literacy
centers, Departments of Education, various universities and colleges, and in the public schools. He has taught writing to
people in homeless shelters, housing projects, women's centers, and prisons, including Death Row, as well as at various universities,
colleges, and high schools.

EDITING EXPERTISE
Krawiec has worked for two decades as a ghost writer, development
editor, and line editor. He has edited creative anthologies featuring the work of internationally known writers such as Fred
Chappell, Allan Gurganus, Reynolds Price, Lee Smith, Elizabeth Spencer, and others.
He
is currently developing and editing, in conjunction with a literary press, a series of novels for publication by midlist
writers who previously published with major NY houses.
