Utah Trip: Part - 2

The canyon narrowed as we continued our trek along the river,
but deep within the confines of the sandstone walls we found pockets of autumn color reflecting in clear pools of still water,
and vegetation clinging to the rock like hanging gardens.

Subtle light, along with the quiet trickle of water, draws a soul into a trance-like state of mind, until the raucous
call of a raven gliding overhead, breaks the mutted sounds of nature's voice.

Splashes of colorful sandstone, dabbed with desert varnish and sparse vegetation, form an almost impressionistic image;
like the dappled paintings of Monet.

The sun peeked over the edge of the rim, casting just enough light to make this little tree glow as if lit by a single
spotlight.
