I live and train out of Sunset View Stables. We currently raise and show Miniature's and also American Saddlebreds.
I currently train for halter, showmanship, and driving. I have several horses that I have broke to drive that have gone
on to be great driving horses. Several have brought home championships their first time out. I believe in working
with the horse, not making it afraid of me. I want the horse to enjoy its job, and you will get a lot more from your
horse. I have even trained partially blind horses to drive, they have gained a trust in me that I can ask them to go
anywhere. I truly enjoy working with the horse.
I have also worked with a great group of kids for the past three years. They range from 3 - 16 years of age.
The kids learn how to care for their horses, how to get their horses to do things and much more. They take the time
to keep the horses stalls clean, and make sure the horses are comfortable. They have shown in halter, showmanship, costume,
liberty, obstacle, jumping, and driving. Each year they add a new class to their schedule. Yes this is a lot of
work but to see the kids faces it is well worth it. I have a helper also, which is Cheryl Rose with Cntry Rose Miniatures.
She has had horses in training with me, and then gotten involved with these kids. We use one of her horses for a couple
of the kids. We have lots of fun at the shows and during practice. Each year after show season the kids enter
the Pet Parade in Olympia, and have come home with great memories.
