Welcome to Rough Creek Farm.

Located in Hardin County, Kentucky, Rough Creek Farm is home to Thoroughbreds, Suffolk Punch Draft horses, and the Anderson family (as well as a few dogs).

The thoroughbred stud focuses on a small band of broodmares and their offspring.  Both the owners have a background in Molecular Biology and Genetics.  Studying fruit flies and arabidopsis plants doesn't quite compare to raising horses, however, so the Andersons returned to Kentucky -and have brought aspects of their scientific background to the breeding of Thoroughbreds.

The Andersons have built up a set of theories that seek to categorize horses into several compatible or incompatible genetic types based on phenotypic indicators (physically discernable or measurable traits).  This phenotypic analysis has been used to select all Rough Creek's thoroughbreds and may soon be offered as a service.
