Human Guinea Pigs: America's Secret Medical Experiments
From the early 1940s into the 60s, the armed forces, the Atomic Energy
Commission, and collaborating universities and hospitals administered nuclear
experiments to thousands of unsuspecting and uninformed Americans, many
of whom were badly damaged. These experiments included 18 subjects who
were injected with traces of plutonium and several hundred women were given
drinks of radioactive iron at a university clinic.
Shades of "Nuremberg"!
These shocking facts are thoroughly documented and researched in a book
by Eileen Welsome titled The Plutonium Files ...the subject of our
next SLP discussion class and meeting at the Central library, 10:00 AM
to 11:30, Saturday, March 4th.
Surely there is an urgent need to discuss what it is that makes otherwise
respectful and decent citizens do such outrageous and brutal acts with
governmental encouragement.
