1998 Northern Rockies Trip

From Mark's "Book of Doom": Day 8: Saturday, May 23rd Short drive today, to Billings, Montana. The scenery here is exactly what I expected -- mountain - grass - cow - mountain as far as the eye can see. We had a brief moment of excitement when Steph wandered onto the road shoulder; she was watching the cows, not the road... Camped for the night at the Billings Metro KOA which meets all expectations for a "kampground." We all did our laundry and had a shower. It rained during the night (of course). Oh, yeah, one more thing: At Crazy Jane's Family Restaurant and Casino (no really! Every Family restaurant in Montana is also a casino), I had the "Beef fingers". Think chicken fingers, only with beef -- only in Montana...

(You know, I wish I had some reasonable photos to put here, but... I guess next time I should take pictures of the wacky restaurants, menus, laundry rooms, and every-dang'd campsite we visit!) |
