SAM 21 members are dedicated to the preservation
of free flight model airplane designs of the 1930's & 1940's era (pre WWII) by building & flying them, and
enjoying the comraderie of fellow Old Time modelers.
Our creations are built
mainly of balsa wood with fabric covering. They are powered with a range of motors ranging from spark plug (or glow)
engines to rubber band motors, and also modern electric motors. Some are released to Fly Free, while other are commanded
by Radio Control. In either case the object is to place the model into rising air (a thermal) and keep it up for as
long as possible!
A noble endeavour!
Flying venues include both sport-flying
and easy-going contests.
We hope you will join us at our monthly
meetings,
or at the various flying sites that we
frequent.
