FAMILY DOINGS | TRAVELS | GARDENING | SPARKY'S HOME PAGE | RESUME

Sparky was my four-legged child and granddog to my Mom.

These days we're all pretty focused on keeping Sparky as well as possible.
She was diagnosed with cancer in late March 2001.
She passed 5 March 2003 -- a full year after what we were told to expect.
We miss her terribly.

My Dominion

Princess on front walk People often ask, "What kind of dog is she?"
Well, as near as we can tell,
she's a Shepherd-Lab-Heinz57-HappyDog --
heavy on the HappyDog
...tho' non-dog people mostly think she's just manic.

Happy Dog at Christmas
Sparky at Christmas with her newest toy:
It really doesn't take much to keep the happy dog happy.

SpaceDog Sparky-the-Space-Dog in the tub
Sparky had surgery on her little dog butt and she's not supposed to lick.
How do you keep a dog from licking its butt?
Put a lampshade on its head!

Dejected SpaceDog The poor, pitiful Space-Dog!
The ultimate in denegration!
Having to wear a lampshade and having to take a bath!

The manic... ummm... happy, little dog has been to beginning and intermediate obedience training as well as "Acting I." When she goes to work or the store or a party she becomes "the life of the party" because she's more than happy to show off her "acting" skills. She's also quite friendly and will wave at you. (Next time you see her, try shooting her with your finger and a loud "BANG!")

Every day that her mom goes to work -- and other times as well -- the spoiled, little dog goes to "Doggie Day Care", which is just another name for Gramma's House. There Sparky chases evil squirrels and cats from the yard, keeps the construction boys on their toes, and sees to it that anyone who might need to pet a little dog has the opportunity to do so.

O! Heavenly Dog!
