Americana Music Video Webcasts

More and more sites are providing streaming Americana music- complete with video- that works even with a 56K modem. One of the best sources is the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage archives. They present all types of performing arts, but scrolling down through each month's archive will reveal concerts by some of the best Americana artists- such as Tish Hinojosa, Slaid Cleaves , and Jimmy LaFave.

Another good source is Live on the Net. At this site's main page, you can find a lot of Americana music by searching for "Bluebird Cafe" and "Western Beat".

The Digital Club Network also has a considerable amount of acoustic music in the streaming video format. Click on the “Bands/Shows” button, then look at each of the acoustic-friendly genres in the drop-down menu.

The Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour is a live audience radio show about grassroots music and Americana news that also provides a live, multi-camera weekly webcast. It is available as  56K streaming audio/video OR a 300K stereo broadband cybercast. Or you can listen to the archived audio library of the 25 most recent shows.
