Come faeries, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame. ~ W.B. Yeats
Welcome to Underhill
Most people think I like faeries because they're cute. Not true, for many of them aren't cute.
Without the fey folk, this world would be a dull and dreary place indeed. If you think your life IS dull and dreary, look within your heart. Are you lacking magic?
Have you lost your faith in the faerie? Search for it. When you find it, hold it fast. Don't let it go, for with that belief flies the magic of life. When that's gone, it's not living. It's just survival. (I have written a number of poetry lamenting the loss of this belief.)
There are many kinds of faerie
and (like I said), they're not all cute and wispy.
Mary Cicely Barker
has succeeded quite well in showing us the pretty ones. But there are others, too. Some are shy and you never see them. Some are grumpy and don't care for humans. Some are mischievous and love to screw up our lives. But they all exist. If we believe.
I believe.
Do you?
There are many ways to enter Underhill from my cyberhome.
Not all of you will be able to find your way back from whence
you came without your BACK button or starting over from the main page.
You others, the hearty souls, may explore further and
(as it is with the fae) never know where it is you will journey to ~ more oft than not, you'll be returned to your starting point. Eventually.
