The Angels Were Generous

Leemie Malone

I raise my voice to Jesse
Or time-out becomes a must,
My toddler knows by calling
Leemie She’ll evade my wrath, but only just.
This friend of hers, this Leemie by name,

I’ve often wondered where she’s from.
Around this house she’s garnered fame,
Disappearing when she’s told to come.
She’ll jump up and run the other ay -
I’ve never met Leemie - not once!

She’s here a lot, but she hardly stays,
this kid must be always out to lunch.
All I know is every time
We enter the Parenting Zone
Jesse screams for her partner in crime:
I want you Leemie! Leemie Malone!
