Did I Really Say Yes?
The Wedding Newsletter
(issue 1)
I thought this might be a fairly easy way of keeping everyone involved in this little production up-to-date with changes, decisions and all the other wedding rot. It will certainly be easier for me and that's the most important thing! I can't seem to remember what I told whom (or why). It's guaranteed not to get any better and The Day draws nearer, so this seems the most logical solution.

Fabric!!!
And Now We Sew
At this point, the attendants are as follows:
BestMan: Eric Peterson
BestLady: Diane Straus
Bridesmaids: Stephanie Beverage, Cindy Weidmann, Kathye Macnamara
Groomsmen: Steve Huizenga, Dave Knittle, Robert Romberger
Guardsmen: Will Chantland, John Sparks
Ringbearer: Jessicah Strassburg
Officiator: Kevin Timms
Who:
Vicki Strassburg and Jamie Eldredge
The Date: April 12, 1997
The Time: Daytime (we'll narrow it down soon!)
Location: Craig Park, Ted Craig Shelter (yes, it's an outdoor wedding)
Style: Garb!
Refreshments: I suppose
I've chosen my colors (and they're not too far off my original thoughts).
Bride: Dove Grey and chain mail
Groom: Dove grey and dark teal
Best Lady and Best Man: Plum, accented with spring green
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen: Spring green accented with plum. (Di had some material I fell head over heels in love with and she was willing to use it for the wedding. So, instead of opting for dusty rose, I went with the dark plum of her material. That meant changing the "other" color. Light teal didn't look good with the plum, so I settled on a springy green. That may end up changing a bit, depending on the final material we locate. As you can see above, the bridal party will consist of their main color, with an accent color. They may also use a base color of charcoal grey (as long as it's not too much).)
Ringbearer: Plum, dove grey (These colors are firm. I'm using leftover fabric from the others' garb!)
Guardsmen: Plum, spring grey (I've not spoken extensively with these guys yet, so their colors are in flux.)
Now that the colors have been finalized, it's time to get the material. We will all be wearing different garb. The goal has always been to get the fabric all at once so that the material itself will be the unifying factor. The fabric that has been already snatched up is mostly for Jamie and myself. We do have the plum for the best lady and best man. We still have to get the spring green, charcoals and accent colors, trims and ribbons. On Saturday, January 18th, there's an all-day fabric road trip. I will be hitting a place next to the Citadel (off the 5 fwy up up towards LA). If I don't find what I want, I'll be heading up to the garment district. If time permits, there's a ribbon store that Di swears by in Long Beach. I would love to have as many of the wedding party as possible go with me. Please try. If there's just no way, be sure you let me know your yardage requirements. Like I said, the goal is to get all the material at once.
Once we have the fabric, it's time to start sewing! I'll be hosting a sewing day or two (or three or ...) as The Day creeps up on us. There may be some other family members I have to sew for, so I can't really commit to making any of your garb for you. I will, of course, be willing to help as much as I can. All I can say is, "Let's talk."
