The Cat Got Sick

Dax, our beloved Norwegian Forest cat, decided to go from 8-1/2 pounds to 4-1/2 pounds in less than two weeks. His liver shut down (who knows why!). It was touch and go for awhile there. 3 weeks in intensive care and Dax was able to come home. He had a feeding tube stuck in him, which meant we had to puree his food and force it through the tube 6 times a day for the next two months or so. It was worse than having a newborn again!

He's up to 14 pounds now, so I'd say it was a full recovery!

Looking back, I wouldn't have done it any other way. My lap would have been forever cold without Dax. Bit it DID mean a lot of changes to the wedding plans ~ both financial and time (6 feedings a day ate up any extra time I thought I had!)
