| If you're building large models, supporting the wings during construction can be a fiddle.
A few years back I snagged a pair of cheap photographic tripods from KEH Camera Brokers for
something like 10 bucks each. I've made a couple of different "adapters" to fit the camera mount
(1/4-20 bolt) to deal with various problems. One set of "adapters" are shown here - 1/4" oak stock drilled
and tapped to fit the camera mount bolt, with a chunk of foam glued to the top of the board. Makes for a pretty
good "jack stand" to support the wings on large models. The cheap tripods are a _lot_ stronger than they look;
I've tested them to 35 pounds load and they're steady even at that weight. Once the model is finished,
I build model-specific wing supports for use during set-up at the field.
