| In this view the wing is bottom-up on the bench, with the aileron to the left. The hinge is the center aileron hinge, which attaches to the aileron immediately in front of
the aileron control horn. The rectangular item to the right of the hinge is the rear wing strut hard point.
The hinge tube attaches into the rear main wing spar (5/16" x 3/4" spruce) directly above the strut hard point.
Note that the hinge mounting tube runs at an angle up through the wing trailing edge, and that the aileron
leading edge is notched to clear the hinge mounting tube when deflected down. |
