| This view is of the left wing outboard aileron hinge - the wing is bottom-up on the bench with the aileron to the right and the wing to the left. Frise ailerons have their pivot point below and behind the aileron leading edge. Because of the geometry of the hinge, the aileron leading edge is slotted to clear the hinge during up deflection. In this view the aileron is deflected slightly up, and the aileron hinge tube is partially hidden inside the slot. |
