It is my firm belief that the ordinary and extraordinary
conditions and challenges of life can be best met by coming to understand that all true need is spiritual. Through the embrace
of such a radical notion, and by being willing to move into the emotional work that makes way for healing, we cannot help
but become responders to life rather than reactors.
I have special interests in systems theory, quantum
physics, and the philosophical foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a particular fondness for the latter, as
knowledge of the Five Elements and their application to concerns/problems - long-standing or newly risen - allows one to begin
trusting the movement of Life and all that it brings, essential for the work of healing.
Systems theory has as its
foundation the principle that life and one's experience of life does not happen in a vacuum; rather, every action, thought,
experience impacts something/everything else. Systems theory could be said to have its roots in the quantum realm of science,
which encourages and excites me because it enables a blending of both therapeutic intervention, spirituality, and science
in ways not conceived of before the last century, ways that are rooted in the very real and indisputable interconnection /
interbeingness of All That Is.
I believe that my approach of blending the best of Eastern and Western teachings and
practices in a therapeutic setting provides the depth needed to shepherd the transformational work of healing, enabling movement
from a focus on wounds to the intrinsic balance of wholeness. It is this already present, yet occluded, wholeness that I refer
to as Authentic Self.
