Van der Sterre Construction was founded in 1984. From the beginning, we have

focused on providing the highest quality renovation service for both residential and commercial clients.  We have produced award-winning homes and kitchens.  We have produced a church, the most developed community theater in San Francisco, and several grand public buildings.  We have a proven track record in new construction and whole house renovation which extends back to the early 1970’s. 

Our project list is divided by focus: 

 New projects, which include a Theater at Ft. Mason, A church addition in North Beach, and a complex custom home on Twin Peaks.

Whole House Renovation:  Several large Arts and Crafts, Edwardian and Victorian projects, including landmark buildings and other San Francisco treasures.

Our primary scope usually includes seismic and structural upgrades, new mechanical systems, and new finishes, fixtures and fenestration throughout.  The end result may very closely match the original design intent, but with a contemporary sensibility which focuses on structural integrity, mechanical superiority, re-prioritized spaces and new finishes where appropriate.

            Kitchen and Bath Renovations are frequently the focus of our renovation projects.
