Melodia joined more than 300 musicians to participate in the 30th anniversary Wall to Wall concert at Symphony Space celebrating the life and work of J.S. Bach. 
 
Melodia performed Wir eilen mit schwachen, from Cantata 78, and Den Tod niemand swingen kunnt from Cantata 4. With continuo, cello and bass. Conducted by Cynthia Powell.
 
"Bach cantatas were well sung by the Melodia Women’s Choir of New York City,"
led by Cynthia Powell. Vivien Schweitzer, New York Times.

Force of Nature -- Celebrating the Earth
Saturday May 3 at 8PM
Sunday May 4 at 4PM

Force of Nature ~ Celebrating the Earth is a program of beautiful and contrasting music written by 20th and 21st century composers honoring the spirit of the natural world. The concert features composers from Israel, Japan, Hungary, Britain, and North America and settings of poetry by Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, James Agee, e.e. cummings, William Shakespeare, and ancient Chinese poetry from the 8th and 11th centuries.

A portion of ticket sales was donated to Water is Life - Kenya, a not-for-profit organization devoted to bringing resources, supplies, equipment and expertise to complete new wells in drought-stricken areas. Water is Life - Kenya was founded and is run by Joyce Tannian, a former Melodia singer, now living in Kenya.
