Here is a Sitar Guitar I custom built a few years ago. The fellow wanted it made from Indian rosewood. Turned out very nice, all inlaid with MOTS, French polished with Burmese shellac. . I let him know that if he wanted it made from rosewood, he would have to keep it in a climate controlled case. Rosewood is very un-stable for something as critical as a sitar buzz bridge, so all my Sit-Guit bodies before and since then were made from Masonite..super stable, and way, way less expensive. Strangely, the sound of the Masonite Sit-Guit is very rich, and very twangy, and a near identical match to the rosewood.
It takes a few months to build one, email me for more details.
