Youth
Choir Tour is a mission and extension of University Baptist Church
and Greenwood Forest
Baptist Church. These guidelines are written with the purpose to help ensure that our conduct and behavior reflects this
sense of mission as we represent Jesus Christ.
1. The buddy system is in effect at all times. Never go anywhere
alone. All activities will be in groups with a chaperone. No one should leave his or her group without permission from a chaperone.
Never leave with anyone who is not a part of the tour, including relatives and friends!
2. Curfew times are to be strictly observed. In the hotel, no
one, under any circumstances, should leave his or her room after curfew except for emergencies.
3. No Purple Rooms at any time. (blue + pink = purple)
4. Be kind and considerate to everyone you see. Use “yes,
sir” and “no, ma’am” in all situations. Always show your
gratitude and say, “thank you.”
5. You are responsible for any property damage.
6. Swimming will be permitted only at designated times.
7. You will be issued a key to your hotel room. Keep your key
with you at all times.
8. Long distance phone calls will be allowed, but you will need to bring a pre-paid phone card or a cell phone. Do not dial direct from the hotel.
9. Sanctuaries are places of worship and prayer. Please refrain
from running and loud talking, and do not eat or bring drinks into any church sanctuary.
10. Do not be a picky
eater or discuss food which you dislike in the midst of people who provide the food.
11. Be positively supportive
of everyone around you, whether in our group, our hosts, or those people that we will work with. Refrain from inside jokes, criticism of others or side comments which are put-downs. No complaining at any time!
12. Be considerate of your roommates. Clean up after yourself.
13. If there is ever a doubt, ask an adult.
14. Be on time! Better yet, be early!
15. Any behavior deemed inappropriate
by a chaperone will be immediately called to your attention. If behavior is considered
disruptive to the tour, the person will be sent home at their parents’ expense.
This decision will be made by David or Susan, in consultation with the chaperones.
16. Leave valuable items at home. Laptop computers and personal
DVD players are not allowed. Don’t leave money or valuables out in the
open in hotel rooms or dressing rooms. Carry wallets in pockets during performances.
17. Be sure to tell an adult if something is amiss, if you are ill, or if something about the tour is bothering
you. Report injuries to an adult.
18. You may change seats
on the bus, but there will be no other movement up and down the aisles just to be running around. Do not sit on the back of the bus seats, the seat arms, in the aisles, or on equipment.
19. You may listen to radio and CD players on the bus using headphones.
20. The bus bathroom is for emergency use only. What goes in stays
with us all week!
21. Always remember that you are representing your choir, your church, your community, your state, and your
beliefs through all of your interactions with others.
22. Shirt logos containing profanity, advertising alcoholic beverages, or with inappropriate text are not allowed.
23. Look alive as you sing! Keep an alive, vital look on your
face. Have a real concern and love for the people you are singing for as you
share through music the message of Christ’s love. While singing, always
make the words that come out of your mouth your own words.
